Yilwatda Heads APC Screening Committee for Returning Governors
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has been appointed to chair the party’s screening committee for sitting governors seeking re-election as well as governors aspiring for Senate seats.
The APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, will serve as secretary of the committee, while other members are drawn from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
According to the party’s schedule, the screening exercise for incumbent governors and Senate-bound governors will hold from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors Lodge.
Proceedings are expected to commence at 4:00 p.m. on the first day and continue at 10:00 a.m. on the second day.
The APC also fixed Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, for the screening of other governorship aspirants. The exercise will take place at the APC National Secretariat, beginning at 10:00 a.m. daily.
