Ikechi Emenike Appointed Member of ADC Presidential Electoral Committee
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed Abia politician, Chief Ikechi Emenike, as a member of its Presidential Electoral Committee ahead of the party’s 2027 presidential primaries.
The appointment was announced by the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja as part of the constitution of key committees to oversee the conduct of the ADC presidential primary process.
According to the list released by the party, former Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, will serve as Chairman of the Presidential Electoral Committee, while Prof. Yisa Gana was named Secretary.
Chief Ikechi Emenike was listed among notable members of the committee alongside Maj.-Gen. Adamu Jalingo, Dr. Auwalu Anwar, Dr. Macaulay Iyare, Tajudeen Bakare, Zainab Buba Galadima and others.
The ADC also constituted a Presidential Screening Committee chaired by former Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, as part of preparations for its presidential primaries.
Political observers say the inclusion of Ikechi Emenike in the high-level committee reflects the growing influence of Abia stakeholders within the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party stated that the committees were carefully constituted to ensure transparency, credibility, fairness and internal democracy throughout the conduct of its primaries.
