Hon. Akaliro Distributes Aprons, Fertilizer at Eke-Ude Market Reopening, Urges Support for Labour Party
The Honourable Member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency, Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has flagged off the reopening of Eke-Ude Market in Ofeme with a series of empowerment initiatives targeted at traders and women in the community.
At the event, Hon. Akaliro distributed aprons to market women and traders to support their daily business activities and promote hygiene within the market environment.
In addition, he provided fertilizer to women farmers as part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods in the area.
Speaking during the reopening ceremony, the lawmaker emphasized the importance of grassroots development and reiterated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
He also used the opportunity to encourage the people of Ofeme to sustain their support for the Labour Party in the upcoming election, by voting for Gov. Alex Otti and all APC candidates that will be on the ballot, noting that continuity would enable more people-oriented projects that will impact the people.
In a further move to enhance access to government services, Hon. Akaliro facilitated the presence of officials handling National Identity Number (NIN) registration, enabling traders and residents to register on the spot without stress.
Community members who attended the event expressed appreciation for the interventions, describing them as timely and impactful.
The reopening of the market is expected to stimulate local economic activities and provide a more conducive environment for trade in Ofeme and surrounding communities.
