WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY: AKALIRO CELEBRATES TEACHERS IN OHUHU, ABIA
The Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency (Ohuhu) in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has felicitated with teachers across his constituency and Abia State on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
In a goodwill message marking the celebration, Akaliro described teachers as the foundation of every profession and critical builders of society, noting that virtually every professional—including lawyers, doctors, governors, legislators, creatives and artisans—passed through the hands of teachers.
He commended teachers for their invaluable role in shaping destinies, building communities and preparing the next generation, particularly those serving in schools across Ohuhuland.
The lawmaker also saluted the dedication and resilience of teachers who continue to educate and inspire children despite the various challenges confronting the teaching profession.
Akaliro commended the Governor Alex Otti-led administration for its educational policies, particularly the recruitment of teachers and the ongoing remodelling of public schools into smart schools across the state.
He assured his constituents that the ongoing school remodelling initiative would soon extend to schools within Ohuhuland, stressing that improved learning environments are essential to achieving better educational outcomes.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and legislative initiatives aimed at improving teachers’ welfare, upgrading school infrastructure and restoring greater dignity to the teaching profession in Abia State.
Akaliro thanked teachers for their sacrifices, dedication and commitment to the education and development of children, assuring them that their contributions to society remain deeply valued.
“Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for not giving up on our children,” Hon. Akaliro said, as he wished teachers across Abia State a Happy World Teachers’ Day.
