Peter Obi Alleges Political Persecution, Says No One Is Guaranteed Tomorrow
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, has alleged that he is being politically targeted because of his opposition role, saying he has become the focus of intimidation aimed at discouraging him from contesting the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview with media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo, Obi claimed that those in power were doing everything possible to frustrate his political activities. He, however, maintained that he would not be intimidated and would continue to pursue his political convictions.
The former Anambra State governor also reflected on the uncertainty of life, stating that no one can guarantee they will be alive tomorrow. According to him, while he hopes to participate in the 2027 general elections, his life and future remain in God’s hands.
Obi further declared that he was prepared to belong to any political platform that would help him achieve his vision for Nigeria, insisting that his commitment was to national development rather than loyalty to a particular political party.
He reiterated his call for issue-based politics, good governance and accountable leadership, urging Nigerians to focus on electing leaders capable of improving security, reviving the economy and delivering better public services.
The interview has generated widespread reactions on social media, with supporters and critics offering differing interpretations of his comments, particularly his remarks on personal safety and the 2027 elections.
