Anyanwu Commends Otti’s Developmental Strides, Urge Abians to Back Governor’s Continuity Beyond 2027
A chieftain of the Labour Party and Convener of Oha’ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Nduka Anyanwu, has commended Governor Alex Otti for what he described as remarkable achievements in human and infrastructural development across Abia State.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Abia State on Tuesday, Anyanwu said Governor Otti’s administration has redefined governance through the delivery of critical infrastructure, job creation, youth empowerment, improved security, enhanced healthcare services, and reforms in the education sector.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during her maiden visit to the state, toured the Akwete Weaving Centre in Ukwa East Local Government Area before attending a civic reception hosted in her honour by the Abia State Government.
Commenting on the visit, Anyanwu praised the growing collaboration between the Abia State Government and the Federal Government, noting that the partnership has facilitated major development initiatives, including the ongoing construction of the Abia International Airport, which he said would accelerate urbanisation beyond Aba and Umuahia while boosting the state’s economic growth.
He also applauded the Otti administration’s human development programmes, particularly initiatives targeted at empowering young people and vulnerable groups across the state.
According to him, programmes such as TechRise have equipped thousands of youths with digital skills, positioning them for opportunities in the global technology ecosystem while promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
On the First Lady’s visit to the Akwete Weaving Centre, Anyanwu commended the state government’s efforts to revive and modernise the historic textile hub, describing the initiative as a strategic investment in local enterprise and cultural heritage.
“This centre will create jobs for our youths and women, empower local weavers, attract investment, and showcase Made-in-Nigeria excellence to the world,” he said.
The Labour Party stalwart urged the people of Abia State to continue supporting Governor Otti’s administration and to sustain the current development trajectory by backing his continuity beyond 2027.
According to Anyanwu, continuity of the present administration would enable the government to consolidate on its achievements and deliver more meaningful socio-economic and infrastructural projects across all parts of the state.
