FCT Police Commissioner Assures of a More Civil, Approachable Police Force as GOMEP Commends Effective Policing in Abuja
The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Mohammed Sanusi, Ph.D has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to building a more civil, professional, and approachable police service that effectively serves the people of the Federal Capital Territory.
CP Sanusi gave the assurance while receiving an Award of Excellence from the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers (GOMEP) in recognition of his outstanding leadership and efforts in strengthening security across the FCT.
Presenting the award on behalf of GOMEP, the National President, Comrade Treasure Otiti, commended the Commissioner for the remarkable improvement in security and public safety witnessed in Abuja since he assumed office.
He noted that despite the security challenges confronting different parts of the country, the Federal Capital Territory has continued to remain relatively peaceful and secure under the leadership of CP Sanusi, providing a safe environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Otiti further applauded the Commissioner for promoting intelligence-led policing, strengthening community engagement, and fostering a cordial relationship between the police and members of the public. He urged him to sustain the momentum and continue implementing strategies that will further enhance security within the nation’s capital.
Responding, CP Sanusi expressed appreciation to GOMEP for the recognition, describing the award as an encouragement to do even more in the service of the nation.
He assured residents and business owners in Abuja that the FCT Police Command would continue to lead from the front in combating crime and maintaining law and order.
The Commissioner reiterated his commitment to making the police more accessible, professional, and people-friendly, while calling on residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information that would aid effective policing.
