REJOINDER: OHUHU PEOPLE REJECT FAKE GROUP, REAFFIRM SUPPORT FOR HON. ANDERSON KELECHI AKALIRO
The attention of concerned stakeholders and genuine members of the Labour Party in Ohuhu has been drawn to a laughable and misleading statement credited to a faceless and fictitious group parading itself as the “Indigenous People of Ohuhu Forum.”
Ordinarily, such an amorphous body without any identifiable leadership, known members, structure, or credibility should not deserve any response. However, in order to prevent unsuspecting members of the public from being deceived by their falsehoods and desperate propaganda, it has become necessary to set the records straight.
First, we state categorically that the so-called group does not represent the collective interest, position, aspiration, or voice of Ohuhu people. It exists only in the imagination of a few disgruntled individuals whose stock-in-trade is to cause confusion and unnecessary political tension within Ohuhu land.
For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro remains the overwhelming choice of members and supporters of the Labour Party across Ohuhu and Umuahia North State Constituency. His sterling performance, accessibility, people-oriented representation, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the Labour Party have continued to endear him to the grassroots.
It is therefore dishonest and mischievous for unknown persons hiding under a fake platform to claim that Governor Alex Chioma Otti did not affirm Hon. Akaliro’s as the party’s choice for Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency seat for the 2027 polls.
Governor Alex Otti as not only the undisputed leader of the Labour Party in Abia State but also the national leader of the party affirmed his candidacy.
His affirmation of Hon. Akaliro’s candidacy is not in doubt and cannot be distorted by political jobbers seeking relevance.
The people of Ohuhu are politically enlightened and cannot be manipulated by faceless groups sponsored to create division where none exists. Attempts to impose confusion through blackmail, propaganda, and fabricated communiqués will fail woefully.
We therefore advise those behind this sham publication to desist from dragging the name of Ohuhu into needless controversy and political bitterness.
Ohuhu people are united, progressive, and fully capable of distinguishing between genuine leadership and opportunistic political merchants.
We reaffirm our total support and solidarity for Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro and urge all Labour Party faithful and the good people of Ohuhu to remain focused, united, and committed in their quest to vote for him and Governor Alex Chioma Otti and other members of the Labour Party during the 2027 polls.
