Gov. Otti Receives Free Labour Party Nomination Form as NWC Endorses Him for Second Term
Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, OFR has received his Labour Party nomination form free of charge from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party ahead of the next governorship election.
The form was presented to him during a ceremony held at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, led by the party’s National Chairman, Sen. Nenadi Usman.
Speaking during the presentation, Senator Usman described Governor Otti as the “poster boy” of the Labour Party, commending his administration for promoting the party’s ideals of equal opportunities and social justice in governance.
She explained that the decision to grant the governor a free nomination form was in recognition of what she described as his outstanding performance in office and to encourage him to continue delivering good governance to the people of Abia State.
Also speaking, the party’s National Secretary, Obioma Iheanacho, praised Governor Otti for remaining committed to the Labour Party despite internal challenges that affected the party in recent times.
According to him, the governor remained steadfast when many politicians defected to other political parties, noting that his consistency in both governance and party loyalty deserved commendation.
In his response, Governor Otti thanked the party leadership for the gesture, assuring the NWC that he would continue to uphold the ideals of the Labour Party and support its growth.
The governor also commended Senator Nenadi Usman for her role in stabilising the party and resolving its leadership crisis. He expressed confidence that the Labour Party was now positioned to move forward strongly ahead of future elections, stating that all legal disputes involving the party had been resolved.
Among those who accompanied Senator Usman to the event were the party’s National Organising Secretary, Mrs. Oluchi Oparah; National Woman Leader, Hilda Dokubo; and National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa.
The immediate past National Secretary of the party, Darlington Nwokocha, also received his nomination form during the event.
Others present included federal lawmakers from Abia State, alongside members of the Abia State Executive Council.
