FCC Commissioner Representing Abia, Dr. Victor Ikeji Visits State Office, Assures Staff of Improved Welfare
The Federal Character Commissioner representing Abia State, Hon. High Chief Victor Ikeji, Ph.D, on Friday, July 31, 2026, paid a working visit to the Abia State Office of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), where he assured members of staff of the Commission’s commitment to improving their welfare.
Addressing the staff during the visit, Dr. Ikeji noted that the Commission, under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, is poised to strengthen the Commission’s constitutional mandate of promoting equity, fairness, and national cohesion in federal appointments and distribution of public opportunities.
He emphasized that the Federal Character Commission is one of Nigeria’s most strategic institutions, with the responsibility of ensuring that our fabric of national unity and cohesion remains tightly knitted.
The Commissioner assured the staff that the current leadership is actively working to improve their welfare and enhance the operational efficiency of the Commission, expressing confidence that they would soon begin to witness the positive results of these efforts.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Abia State Director of the Commission, Mr. Valentine Okolorie, expressed appreciation to Dr. Ikeji for the visit and his continued concern for the welfare of officers in the state office.
Mr. Okolorie also brought to the Commissioner’s attention some operational challenges affecting the state office. Dr. Ikeji immediately addressed the issues raised, a gesture that was warmly received by the staff, who expressed delight at his prompt intervention.
The visit underscored the Commissioner’s commitment to strengthening the operations of the Federal Character Commission in Abia State while fostering a productive and cordial relationship with members of staff.
