Abia State Community Chief, Village Heads Endorse Obi Aguocha, Alex Otti for 2027, Pledge Grassroots Mobilisation
Community leaders under the umbrella of the Abia State Community Chief and Village Heads have endorsed the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, and the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for re-election in the 2027 General Elections, while pledging to mobilise support for their victories at the grassroots.
The endorsement was made during a Grassroots Solidarity Visit to the residence of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, led by the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads, High Chief Okenze Kingsley I. Egwuatu.












Addressing the gathering, High Chief Egwuatu said the visit was aimed at reaffirming the confidence of traditional rulers, village heads and grassroots stakeholders in the leadership of Rt. Hon. Aguocha, whose representation at the National Assembly, he said, has continued to attract commendation from constituents. He added that the council was equally convinced that Governor Alex Otti had demonstrated purposeful and transformative leadership worthy of continuity beyond 2027.
The community leaders commended Hon. Aguocha for his accessibility, people-centred leadership and commitment to the welfare and development of communities across the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency. They also praised Governor Otti for what they described as his administration’s developmental strides, reforms and efforts at restoring public confidence in governance across Abia State.
At the end of the meeting, the council unanimously resolved to intensify grassroots mobilisation in all communities across Ikwuano and Umuahia to ensure the re-election of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha as the representative of the federal constituency in 2027.
The council also resolved to deploy every available grassroots structure to support the re-election of Governor Alex Otti, expressing confidence that the continuation of his administration would further accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people of Abia State.
The community leaders further stressed the need for unity, peaceful political engagement and active community participation as critical ingredients for sustaining the progress being witnessed across the state. They called on residents to remain committed to peace and collective development as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum.
The meeting concluded with prayers for God’s guidance, peace and continued prosperity for Abia State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
