ANOTHER SCORECARD OF HON. AKALIRO: ORIEAMENYI SCHOOL GETS A NEW LEASE OF LIFE
For those familiar with Orieamenyi School in Umuawa-Alaike, Nkwoachara Ward, the deteriorating condition of the school was once a major concern to parents, teachers, pupils and the wider community.
The poor state of the school had become a source of worry, with some parents reportedly withdrawing their children due to concerns about their safety and the learning environment.
Efforts by community leaders and media influencers from the ward to draw the attention of the previous administration to the condition of the school for possible intervention did not yield the desired results.
Today, help has arrived!
As part of his constituency intervention efforts, the Member Representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has facilitated ongoing retrofitting works at Orieamenyi School, giving the institution a renewed hope for a better learning environment.
The intervention is particularly significant because of the strategic importance of Orieamenyi School. The institution serves children from Umuawa-Alaike, Umuokehi, parts of Afugiri and communities in Ibeku, including Emede and Ubani.
By supporting the rehabilitation of this school, Hon. Akaliro is addressing a longstanding community concern and contributing to the improvement of educational infrastructure in Ohuhu.
This is another scorecard of representation that speaks directly to the needs of the people. When public office holders identify pressing community challenges and take steps towards addressing them, the impact goes beyond buildings; it touches families, supports teachers and gives children renewed hope for a better future.
