New Umuawa-Alaocha Health Centre Records Successful Delivery as President-General Gifts Newborn Essentials to Family

The newly constructed Umuawa-Alaocha Primary Health Care Centre has recorded another milestone with the successful delivery of a healthy baby girl, as the President-General of Umuawa-Alaocha Federated Union, Hon. Uluocha Chimex, presented a package of newborn essentials to the baby’s family.

The delivery, which took place at the government-built health facility, was celebrated by community members and health workers as a testament to the growing impact of improved healthcare infrastructure in Umuawa-Alaocha. The baby was born to a young family from Ubaha, Umuhu Ohuhu in .

In keeping with his commitment to supporting maternal and child healthcare, Hon. Uluocha presented the family with a newborn care package containing a baby bath set, diapers, baby wipes, and newborn clothing. The gesture forms part of an ongoing initiative by the President-General to assist families and encourage the use of the health centre for antenatal and delivery services.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Uluocha described the successful delivery at the new health facility as a positive sign for the community, noting that access to quality healthcare remains essential to improving the wellbeing of residents.

He further disclosed that arrangements are being made to obtain records of expectant mothers attending antenatal care at the facility to enable the union provide support to them upon delivery. According to him, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that every mother and newborn receives the care and assistance they deserve.

The President-General also revealed plans to provide baby formula to newborns when they become developmentally ready, thereby extending the support programme beyond childbirth.

Residents have commended both the government’s investment in the health centre and the complementary efforts of the President-General, noting that the combination of improved healthcare services and community-driven welfare support is helping to transform healthcare delivery in Umuawa-Alaocha.
